“Love Vietnamese food? Have some Little V, a hotspot in The Hague that serves the tastiest street food, soups and salads”

You may or may not know that Sander has an “little” obsession with Asian food. So, it’s no surprise that we love going to Little V. Little V lets you get acquainted with the unique culture of South Vietnamese cuisine. The history of the country has left a special mark on the culinary tradition, with influences from countries such as China, Thailand, India and Indonesia but even from Western countries such as France.

If you make your way to Little V on the Rabbijn Maarsenplein in The Hague you will instantly feel like you’re in Vietnam. The interior with its authentic chairs, niches, the plants, small lights and raw materials really gives you an Asian feel. When you step inside, there will be a staff member, who’ll show you to your cozy table.

Onto the most important thing, the food. On the menu there are various street snacks, soups, salads and dishes with meat or fish. Think of dumplings with all kinds of delicious fillings, spring rolls of rice paper, Banh Canh or crab broth, Bahn mi, fried rice, noodles and many more goodies. Go wild, order everything, because it’s all delicious. No worries if you don’t have a clue what you should pick, the really helpful and friendly staff can help you with your choice and they are really mindful if you have any dietary restrictions.

Sander had his go to soup, the Banh Canh, it’s a chicken broth with chicken, shrimp and udon noodles. And my personal favourite during lunch, because I can never choose, is the street style lunch box. A box with a surprising selection of 4 different dishes presented in a stacked lunch box. If you combine your food with one of their home-made iced teas, smoothies or exotic cocktails you’re in for the perfect flavor combination. I paired my food with their famous Dragon Lady and Sander had a Vietnamese iced coffee, it was delicious.
