Mimi is a new food and lifestyle restaurant. The restaurant works closely with the van der Valk fresh market. The fresh market has its own meat, fish, cheese, coffee, bread, wine and vegetable department. Mimi makes creative looking and delicious tasting plates with fresh products. The atmosphere of the restaurant is trendy and loft vibes. The cool thing about it is that you can buy the accessories that you see in the restaurant. In following the recent trend, the restaurant has a communal table in the back and a sleek looking bar in the middle.

We went to proeflokaal Mimi for a late lunch in Voorschoten and it was one of my favourite finds. We had the Mimi’s papa rock shrimps, a yellow fin tuna salad, a flammkuchen with smoked salmon and pancakes with duck confit. When the dishes arrived, it was clear that it was going to be a delicious lunch. The Sophisticated smoky taste of the tuna, the unexpected salty anchovies, the acidity of the dressing of lemon and olive oil makes for a true taste sensation. The Mimi’s papa rock shrimps was another surprise perfectly crispy and that glace was delicious, it was amazing and I highly recommend it. The wine that we had was Santa Rita Viognier sourced from a number of vineyard sites across Chile’s Central Valley. It has a refreshing finish with the flavours of apricot and pineapple, and delicate floral aromas. It goes perfectly with our choices.
Both the flammkuchen with smoked salmon and the pancakes with duck confit are amazing and wonderfully seasoned to taste.

We left the restaurant stuffed and with a smile on our faces. I’m a fan, not just because they have delicious dishes, but also because the dishes are nicely priced. Appetizers between € 5,00 -10,00 and mains around € 15,00.
